[In-Person] Create Cartoons with Open Toonz
Have you ever wondered how to create moving images with nothing but your drawings? Jump in and get started with this class! Students will learn what it takes to create traditional hand-drawn animations with Open Toonz, a free illustration and cartooning program that is used by Studio Ghibli! Students will begin with the simple bouncing ball, stick figures, and finally onto a final project where they can add as much detail as they like. Traditional Animation is a difficult subject, so to make the learning process easier, the objects drawn in this class will be simple. Students with significant drawing experience can elaborate on their projects.
[In-Person] Create Games with Roblox Studio
Ages 9 - 12
Learn to design and build your own games in Roblox Studio! Students will explore game theory and mechanics as they design and build their very own Obby in Roblox. This class is designed for total beginners and requires only minimal code. The best part is that students can make their games available to play on Roblox.com so their friends and family and test their game from anywhere!

[In-Person] Create Games with Scratch
Ages 8 - 12
Design and program video games using Scratch! Scratch is a programming language built by MIT that is specifically designed to make programming fun and easy. Students will start with the hour of code and then build several simple games to learn the ins and outs of how to program with Scratch. By the end of the class, students will have originally designed video games to share with friends and family!

[In-Person] Minecraft Space Builders
Ages 8 - 12
Whether you have taken Minecraft City Builders at The DAE or this is your first Minecraft class with us, you are sure to have an exciting adventure in building space habitats in Minecraft! Students will learn about space habitats and what required to allow astronauts to live on another planet! They will then, as a team, design and build their ideal space habitat in our private Minecraft Server! Please note, a Mac or PC with the Java edition of Minecraft is required to attend this class. Chromebooks, iPads, and Xbox will not be able to access The DAE server.

[In-Person] Robotics and Coding with Edison
Ages 9 - 12
Learn to program robots with Scratch! Using Edison, a simple but powerful robotics platform, students will take computer programming to the physical world! The class will explore using an Edison specific version of Scratch to create movement and sound programs and move on to program the robots to navigate mazes, interact with the physical world, and more!
[In-Person] Start Coding with Python
Ages 9 - 12
Create interactive text adventure games, quizzes, and more with Python. Python is an ideal starter language because it is easy to write, easy to read, and is used in the real world. In fact, the entire back-end of YouTube is written in Python! Students will start with writing simple projects to develop familiarity with the language and move onto creating interactive text-based games and even drawing with code!

[In-Person] Animate 3D Models with Blender
Learn the basics of how movies like Toy Story, The Incredibles, Ice Age, and more were created! Using Blender, a free and powerful 3D Animation program, students will explore the basics of modeling, lighting, and texturing 3D objects. Starting with several simple projects, students will explore the essential tools in Blender and move on to model more complex objects, like spaceships! Students can expect to complete several 3D models in this class.
[In-Person] Create 3D Games with Unity
Learn how to build a challenging platformer in 3D! Students will use Unity, a powerful game design tool, to explore what goes into the game design process. At first, the class will build a pre-designed level in their game as a group to learn the basics of Unity. Students will then get to design and build their own custom levels to add to their game. Each student will complete the class with a finished game that can be played on any computer.
