Create interactive text adventure games, quizzes and more with Python. Python is an ideal starter language because it is easy to write, easy to read and is used in the real world, in fact, the entire backend of YouTube is written in Python! Students will start with writing simple projects to develop familiarity with the language and move onto creating interactive text-based games and even drawing with code!

11:30AM | Animate 3D Models with Blender
Learn the basics of how movies like Toy Story, The Incredibles, Ice Age, and more were created! Using Blender, a free and powerful 3D Animation program, students will explore the basics of modeling, lighting, and texturing 3D objects. Starting with several simple projects, students will explore the essential tools in Blender and move onto to model more complex object, like spaceships! Students can expect to complete several 3D models in this class.

11:30AM | Become a Digital Comic Artist
Become a digital comic artist! Students will start by working with their instructor and their peers to create their own original characters and stories. They will then create basic storyboards of their comics. Once their storyboards are compete, they will create their comics digitally using digital drawing software.

11:30AM | Become a YouTuber
Running a YouTube channel is fun and not as difficult as you may think! Students will explore different styles of YouTube videos and decide what style they would each like to use for their channel. The class will then learn how to shoot and edit awesome videos with Davinci Resolve, a free and powerful video editing program. Finally, students will explore the process of uploading, tagging, properly labeling, and creating thumbnails for their videos! Please note, as this is an online class, students will be responsible for shooting their videos outside of class. Class time will be spent on writing content for video and editing.
Please note, students will need access to a device that can record video. Acceptable devices includes tablets, smartphones, point and shoot cameras with video capabilities, or camcorders.
Required Hardware: Recording Device (camera, phone, webcam etc)
11:30AM | Create 2D Platformers with Scratch
Prerequisite: Intermediate knowledge of Scratch
Learn to make 2D platformers in Scratch! In this class, you'll bring your skills to the next level as you learn to create awesome games complete with gravity, multiple levels, or even side-scrolling! Recreate your own Super Mario or Flappy Bird-style games while you explore what makes video games fun and challenging!

11:30AM | Create 3D Games with Unity
Learn how to build a challenging platformer in 3D! Students will use Unity, a powerful game design tool, to explore what goes into the game design process. At first, the class will build a pre-designed level in their game as a group to learn the basics of Unity. Students will then get to design and build their own custom levels to add to their game. Each student will complete the class with a finished game that can be played on any computer.
Hardware: A 3 button mouse is required!

11:30AM | Create Graphics with Python (Intermediate)
Prior knowledge of Python required
Create interactive visual projects using code. Using Processing, a programming environment specifically designed to handle graphics, students will use Python to create a variety of different interactive, visual projects and even games. The class builds on the skills developed in Intro to Programming with Python and applies them to a whole new world of projects. Students can expect to complete this class with several original projects. Students will need to use previous Python experience, plus creativity & problem solving skills to create a complex game from the ground up that may even incorporate graphics!

1:30PM | Create Arcade Games with Java
Design and program original arcade-style video games using Java! Students will start by rebuilding pong in Processing, a programming environment specifically designed to handle graphics and interactivity. They will then as a class design, build, and test an original video game complete with characters, enemies, sound effects, music and more! From spaceship shooters to platform jumping battle games, the sky is the limit!
