Ages 9-12
Running a YouTube channel is fun and not as difficult as you may think! Students will explore different styles of YouTube videos and decide what style they would each like to use for their channel. The class will then learn how to shoot and edit awesome videos with Davinci Resolve, a free and powerful video editing program. Finally, students will explore the process of uploading, tagging, properly labeling, and creating thumbnails for their videos! Please note, as this is an online class, students will be responsible for shooting their videos outside of class. Class time will be spent on writing content for video and editing.
Please note, students will need access to a device that can record video. Acceptable devices includes tablets, smartphones, point and shoot cameras with video capabilities, or camcorders.
Software: Download and install Davinci Resolve and Gimp
Software for Screen Recording: OBS Studio (Windows), Quicktime (Mac)
Required Hardware: Recording Device (camera, phone, webcam etc)

Design and program video games using Scratch! Scratch is an MIT designed programming language that is specifically designed to make programming fun and easy. Students will start with the hour of code and then build several simple games to learn the ins and outs of how to program with Scratch. By the end of the class, students will have originally designed video games to share with friends and family!

Create interactive text adventure games, quizzes and more with Python. Python is an ideal starter language because it is easy to write, easy to read and is used in the real world, in fact, the entire backend of YouTube is written in Python! Students will start with writing simple projects to develop familiarity with the language and move onto creating interactive text-based games and even drawing with code!

Redstone is one of the most advanced elements in Minecraft, allowing Miners to create mechanical and electrical creations in the game! From automatic doors to elevators, there is practically no limit to what you can design and create with Redstone. This class will explore how to use the various Redstone materials in Minecraft through all sorts of projects.
